This one is delayed due to the arrival of a new member of our family two weeks ago.The games are still not in any order…

A fun entry to the Falling Block Jam 2025 that proves that physics ideas are always fun ideas when designing a game. Load it up and play in your browser now.

I’ve always got time for any game that Terry Cavanagh releases. His games always feel they serve the core idea of fun, even when he jumps around genres. In this case, it’s very much a game I was ready to play through after my time with Baby Steps. You are an egg, and you need to overcome.

I remember as a child I would find a game compilation CD at computer markets and then spending endless hours trying all the weird and wonderful titles that we contained within. I had this feeling for each game world that “anything was possible”. Manifold Garden has a special place in my heart because it brought me back to that feeling. It is a beautiful game.

This game is a contender for my favourite game of all time. It is both a game version of my childhood Saturday morning cartoons whilst also being a perfectly balanced design. It challenges me to try new combinations, mechs and strategies without overwhelming me with too much information. It even inspired me to make Vactics.

This is another submission to a game jam that uses the theme “Risk It”. Snakes with Stakes takes well-established game mechanics and then moves it into another game structure with brilliant results. Well worth the brief play time that it asks of you.

This seems to be a tilt shifted Wall-E game without the Disney association. Instant wishlist from me. I honestly cannot believe this exact game did not already exist.

This game asks some very important questions:1) Why not make a stealth game that uses the mechanics of crossword puzzles?2) Why not include hilarious comedy moments as well?

This final entry is not a game but a game making tool. I’ve fallen in love with it as it allows me to make simple stories really fast. The straightforward feature set means I can get out of my own way. I don’t go down a programming or design rabbit holes and I can actually make pixel art sprites because I only need to make them 16x16 in size. Check it out and make a cool thing.
