in no particular order…

Snowball! is a pinball game. A trifle and palate cleanser. It does exactly what you would expect of it, nothing more or less.

I was fortunate enough to have a long weekend in Melbourne right after this released and I’ve been pouring hours into wandering around this surreal world. It’s a game that can be frustratingly hard but, like Elden Ring, often there is something to find if you just move off in a new direction. It’s a game enjoyed at a slower pace.

This has been my game to play in short bursts when I need a break from Baby Steps. It is carefree driving for the most part with a slightly odd mood to the whole experience. The look makes me think of the original Silent Hill games without being scary.

I have no real idea what this game is. It might not be a “good” game once it releases but the trailer alone has me curious to find out.

The next game from Melbourne’s Studio Folly looks as good as their debut Gubbins. Playing the demo they have up, it feels like a mash up of Suika Game but with the card deck concept from Balatro. I’m optimistic they can capture some of what made those games special so that Dogpile can stand apart.

Sometimes you just need to quietly run around a really beautiful virtual space and help some people out. Messenger let’s you do that in your browser and has great visuals and audio to round out the experience. Great executions of the clean line work (that some games messed up) and curved world shaders.
